WTO Young Trade Leaders Program 2024 (One Year Training)
Applications are open for the WTO Young Trade Leaders Program 2024. The program will inform young people about WTO’s work and international trade. It will help young leaders to better understand the WTO and International trade. This program gathers all the young leaders around the world between the ages of 18-30 with a strong interest in international trade. Young Trade leaders will be exceptional young leaders with a clear understanding of how trade can be of benefit to people and the planet.
Young leaders are important because they will bring New and Fresh Ideas about Trade, identify the issues, and how WTO can me it better. The selected Young leaders will Join a One year program. WTO will also invite Young Trade Leaders to attend an in-person one-day training program at the WTO in Geneva. The WTO deals with the Global rules of trade between nations. Its main function is to ensure that Trade flows smoothly. More details about the WTO Young Trade Leaders Program are given below.
Benefits of the WTO Young Trade Leaders Program
Selected applicants will have the opportunity:
- Gain a deeper experience and understanding of the WTO and International Trade.
- Young Leaders will publish articles, blogs, podcasts, and social media content on trade-related topics.
- Coordinate a session during the WTO’s annual Public Forum.
- Have an opportunity to benefit from existing WTO training programs
- Benefit from WTO Secretariat advice and mentoring.
- Receive support from the WTO when organizing WTO-related activities in their home countries.
Invitation to Switzerland
Traders will be invited to attend a One-day Training in Geneva, Switzerland in September 2024.
Program Duration
Young Trade Leaders will be selected for one year from (July 2024 to June 2025).
Program Requirements
- Between the ages of 18 and 30 on the date of application.
- Have a strong interest in International Trade.
- Must be a citizen of a WTO member
- Good level of English and can communicate in English.
Required Documents
- CV (no more than two pages)
- A 2-3 minute video introducing yourself, expressing your interest, and explaining the impact you hope to have as a Young Trade Leader.
- A 300-word essay on What does trade mean for you?
